Hall passed away as a result of injuries he received during an early morning motorcycle accident on Interstate 64 in Newport News, Va., June 19.
Hall completed deployments to Germany and Afghanistan in support of ST-8. While deployed to Afghanistan, he earned the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist qualification.
Lt. Ethan Mansel said, “Nate Hall was a man people would pray to have on their side. When anyone thinks of him, there are no bad moments.”
Hall was born in Medford, NJ and joined the Navy in July, 2003. He is survived by his mother, Lynne, his sister, Shana, and extended family.
“I was not only your Chief, but I had become a good friend,” said Senior Chief Logistics Specialist Tonya Hill, Hall’s leading chief petty officer. “Nate was a man of dignity, honor, reliability and respect. He was a go-to guy, a dedicated Sailor and supervisor who always went above and beyond to get the job done.”
Hall’s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, three Good Conduct Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, and three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons.
Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jeremy Trump said, “I was honored to serve with Nate and proud to call him my brother and friend.”
