To our Force and Families –
Memorial Day is a national observance, a day set aside to remember and honor the sacrifices of American men and women who have died in service of our country and those who are still counted among the missing.
Whether training for a mission, engaging in combat or supporting overseas actions, NSW operations are inherently dangerous. Memorial Day is a time to bring to mind the courage and commitment required of our SEALs, Special Boat Operators and the specialists who support them. It’s a time to recall the sacrifices of all our fallen service members. While we may still mourn the loss, we can be inspired by their selfless acts of heroism and examples of dedicated service in support of the values and freedoms we as Americans cherish.
As we honor our fallen comrades this Memorial Day, let’s remember our NSW families who have also paid a price for their loved one’s service. While the memories that they hold will never fade, we hope and pray our families are strengthened, knowing that the sacrifices of their loved ones will be recounted, their stories will be retold, and the lives of their loved ones will continue to inspire current and future generations of NSW operators to come.
